Metal Roof

Cloth roofs only last 7 - 10 years in our harsh environment. People purchase them because they think that they have on other choice or they do not have the budget.

Replacing your yurt roof every few years is NOT CHEAP, but you do have a choice.

Our galvanized standing seam metal roofs are good for 80 - 100 years. Our structural insulated logs will carry the additional weight of the metal roof, no problem.

This shows the inside of a typical yurt roof...

You see the bubble insert at the top. When you move to spray foam section, you will understand how we prevent the roof from condensation.

Here is a closer look at the insert...

Here is why they call the roof a standing seam. Every panel is overlapping the last one with a 3" high standing seam. What you see at the end of the roof panel is called a bird stop. We install these so the foam does not escape when it is sprayed in.

That last hole you see will have a nut and a bolt filling the hole.

This is what a fabric / vinyl roof will look like in 10 - 12 years...

So when people say that our yurts are more expensive than the soft wall yurts, they are right.

MUCH more of an investment in a mold free, warm, sweet smelling and great looking yurt.

Now you can see why.

Micro-Log Yurt

A fairly well-insulated yurt (walls are R-12), insulated floor (R-20), and a standing seam metal roof. Nice and warm but still not able to get a building permit as it does NOT meet all aspects of the building code. If you do NOT require permits, this is the yurt for you.

Insulated Yurt

A well-insulated yurt that is stamped and signed by a licensed engineer, passes all RSI value regulations necessary for permits, and meets all regulations under the National Building code: R-40 floors, R-30 walls, and R-40 to R-60 roofs.
