Bonus Space in a Loft
A loft is a great place for storing extra things for different seasons. It is also a great place to install the hot water heater, pressure tank, HRV (Heating Recovery Ventilation system or a bedroom.
We will show you just what is involved in installing a loft. The final outcome is well worth the additional investment.
To start with you will need to frame in the walls for the rooms on the main floor. That is probably a bathroom and a bedroom or two.
It doesn't sound like much when you say it fast, however a loft is a lot of work.
Depending on how large your yurt is, the loft walls will probably cover half of the floor space.
After the walls are up, the floor joists get installed.
Here is another loft we installed in a yurt in NB.
This loft had a hidden attic access hatch with fold down stairs.
The other use for a loft is the support equipment.

To install a loft you should make your logs longer for more headroom.
